MSM PLUS™ is an excellent source of biological sulfur. It can be an important source of dietary sulfur, an integral part of many proteins, hormones and other substances critical to healthy metabolism. MSM
MSM has more recently become used as a dietary supplement because of the outgrowth of research on the well-known substance DMSO by Dr. Stanley W. Jacob at the Oregon Health Science University. Actually, MSM is equivalent to DMSO but contains an additional atom of oxygen, so it is actually DMSO2. TABLETS
Directions:
The amount of MSM Plus required to obtain maximum benefit will vary among individuals and according to need. It is suggested you begin with one 750 mg tablet twice a day and increase as desired, up to five tablets twice a day.

Directions:
One level teaspoonful (4000 mg) to one heaping teaspoonful (7000 mg) from 1 to 3 times a day. Dissolve in water or juice according to taste. Add directly to foods (avoid heating the MSM Soluble Crystals). May be sprinkled on pet food, houseplants, etc. as well.

SULFUR
Sulfur is an important body component. It is essential to life, and a major component of all living things. It is an element that is quite often overlooked as a nutrient, but yet is an important ingredient in several of the very critical amino acids that make up the proteins contained in our muscles, enzymes and other constituents in our body. Sulfur is in the proteins which constitute basic hair, nails and skin. The sulfur-containing structural protein keratin is found throughout the body, from the epidermis to the hair follicle to the bronchial epithelium of the lungs to the intestinal mucosa. Sulfur-bearing amino acids are key components of many functional proteins and enzymes, and important determinants in the "tertiary" three-dimensional structures, many of which are held in place by permanent disulfide (-S-S-) linkages—for example, in maintaining the hair in its natural inclination toward straight or curly.

SULFUR AND THE AMINO ACIDS
Sulfur is contained in the amino acids, methionine, cysteine and cystine, and in the important sulfhydryl tripeptide glutathione. Dietary sulfur can be incorporated into cysteine, cystine and glutathione. Animal studies using radioactive tracers show that the sulfur in MSM can even be utilized to prepare methionine. MSM
MSM is an abbreviation for Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane. It is a natural form of sulfur found in all living organisms and is present in our body fluids and tissues. It is found in many fresh foods including most fresh fruits and vegetables, milk and some grains. Even though it is present in fresh foods, it is easily destroyed in cooking, storing and processing.
